This Week's Question:
Who holds you accountable?
This Week's Challenge:
There is power in telling our goals to the right person. The right person will help us remember our goals, ask us how they’re going and hopefully challenge us to pursue them.
We all need accountability and good accountability puts a little healthy pressure on us. During periods in my life where I’ve had little accountability, I've had a tendency to wander or drift. I could easily stop making progress and default to just going through the motions. This is human nature. But when someone is holding me accountable, it’s different. I want to improve. I want to show them I’m a person committed to getting better.
Accountability is vital to our leadership development. Your challenge this week is to embrace the third quadrant of development and find someone to hold you accountable to a goal, discipline or behavior. Choose someone who isn’t afraid to challenge you and will provide positive peer pressure.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“Accountability breeds response-ability.” Stephen R. Covey
