Building Team Trust
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
As you prepare for your week ahead, take time with your team and those around you. Be uncommon in all you do!
This Week's Question:
Do you and your team unplug from operations to build trust, deepen relationships, and team-build?
This Week's Challenge:
In the work we do with teams, we’ve noticed something consistent: Leadership teams that struggle with trust, accountability and cohesion rarely spend time actually working on those things.
They’re buried in operations, meetings, problem-solving, and HR issues. But that’s not where trust gets built—that’s where the absence of trust shows up.
The deep work of building trust doesn’t happen during performance reviews or staff meetings. It happens when teams step away from the daily grind to connect as people, not just coworkers.
You don’t have to sit around singing Kumbaya. But if you want a healthy team, you do need to invest time in real conversations, shared experiences, and building relational equity.
Your challenge this week:
Evaluate the current trust level on your leadership team.
- Do you support one another?
- Can you safely hold each other accountable?
- Are you truly for each other?
If not, it may be time to schedule intentional space to unplug from the urgent and reconnect around what’s important—each other. Because when trust grows, everything improves.
Let’s go be Uncommon!
