How’s your sleep health?
This Week's Challenge:
I recently came across some fascinating research about what happens in our bodies, brains and emotions while we sleep. It turns out that a whole lot of healing, restoring and recharging happens during those hours we’re off the clock.
Most of us know this—but few of us treat sleep as a strategic tool for better leadership.
I know I’m at my worst as a leader when I’m tired. I’m less patient, less creative and more reactive. How about you?
Your challenge this week:
Evaluate your approach to sleep. Could it be the upgrade your leadership actually needs?
Here are three proven best practices for healthier sleep:
1. Stick to a consistent bedtime and wake-up time.
2. Shut down screens at least an hour before bed (I know… easier said than done).
3. Aim for a cool, dark, quiet sleeping environment.
There are plenty of other strategies—just search “sleep hygiene tips” and start experimenting.
Leadership begins with energy. Let’s not overlook the most obvious way to recharge.
