How's Your Physical Pillar?

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

Hope you're ready for a new week. Challenge yourself this week to be uncommon in more ways than one.

Your Sunday Nugget

This Week's Question:

How satisfied are you with your physical fitness?

This Week's Challenge:

Every year I try to set a physical goal to be achieved on or around my birthday.  It motivates me to do something new and to train towards better health. I get so busy, and sometimes lazy 😬, that if I don’t put a compelling goal in front of me, my exercise will cease being a priority and I can get out of shape quickly.

Our coach, Anthony Perdrix, is one of the fittest people I know. He always has a challenge scheduled, which drives him to train consistently. Not only that, he is always cheering and challenging his friends and clients to their next level. It is extremely helpful to me to watch his example and try to keep up with him, which I can’t, but it is good for me to try. We all need someone like Anthony in our lives to push us towards better health.

The goal of this week’s Sunday Nugget is to help our health-improving activities become more consistent. These three things have helped me stay relatively consistent at working out:

1. Always having a goal or event I’m training for

2. Working out with other people so I have to show up

3. Including a variety of types of work-outs (gym, run, bike, walk etc.)

When I’m exercising regularly, I have more energy, I sleep better and just feel better about myself. As leaders, we tend to have so much demand on us that it is easy for our physical health to slip.

Your challenge this week is to evaluate where you are and set a goal for your health this year. If you have a goal but have slipped, find a partner that can help you show up. One last thing, if you really want to super-charge your fitness, find someone like Anthony who can show you the way.

This Week's Quote to Ponder:

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” - John F Kennedy
