This Week's "Camino Lesson:"

Adjust to what we can’t control.

This Week's Challenge: 

When I would start out my walk early in the morning on the Camino, there were variables I could not control... like the weather. Sometimes it would be cool, other times warm and humid. There could be rain or wind, full sun or cloudy. In addition to the weather, I could not control the terrain of the path. It was sometimes flat and smooth, other times rocky with hills. It’s the same in our lives. There are things out of our control that impact us on a daily basis. We have to adjust. Just like I might have to pull my rain jacket out of my pack, or apply sunscreen in the full sun, as leaders, we have to adjust to things out of our control. It did no good for me to gripe about the weather or terrain, and it’s not helpful when we complain about challenging circumstances that are truly out of our control. We just need to make adjustments and walk on.

Your challenge this week is to examine adjustments you might need to make as a leader. Is there someone you work with that frustrates you? Perhaps you need to adjust your patience level? Is there a change or new process everyone has to deal with? There are countless situations like this that we need to adjust to.
