What Motivates You?
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
As you continue moving forward, I hope you are inspired to reflect on your motivations this week. Have a great week, Leaders!
Your Sunday Nugget
This Week's Question:
Are you most driven by intrinsic motivation or external rewards?
This Week's Challenge:
Your challenge this week is to ponder what motivates you the most. Is it the paycheck…. the title… the promotion…. the awards? Or… are you motivated by the satisfaction that comes from having a positive influence, or the feeling you have when you bring your best or solved a problem for your organization that makes it a better place to work?
Now I’m not saying external motivations are bad (heck, I want to make more money just like you do), but the motivation that comes from chasing external rewards often doesn’t linger. Life change does. Feeling great about your effort does.
Think about it and chew on how you might discover new motivation that is deep inside of you.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“Intrinsic motivation comes from deep inside.” -Unknown
Until next week,
