With over 40 years of unique experience leading high-performing teams in college and professional basketball, David Leitao is passionate about developing leaders and deeply committed to championing their growth and potential.
As a former assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, he played a key role in building a program that became a national powerhouse and one of the most successful in NCAA history. As a head coach, he guided multiple programs to conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
Over the years, David has mentored numerous NBA players and Hall of Famers, while himself being shaped by some of the most respected coaches in the game. His leadership philosophy centers on human development, trust-building, and empowering those around him to succeed.
Now, David leverages his decades of on-court leadership and coaching experience to help individuals and teams tap into their potential and grow into confident, effective leaders.
He has served on various boards and is an active public speaker, sharing insights on leadership, personal growth, and team dynamics. David recently returned to Virginia Beach with his wife, Joyce. They have three adult sons.
