Starting Your Days Right

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

We hope you each had a great weekend!

As we step into a new week, let’s take a moment to think about how we’re starting our days—and how those first moments can shape everything that follows.

Start strong and make this week uncommon!

This Week's Question:

How do you usually start your day?

This Week's Challenge:

I’ve noticed that my attitude, positivity, patience, and resilience throughout the day are directly related to how I begin it.

If I roll out of bed at the last minute, hurriedly get ready, and rush out the door, I’m probably not setting myself up to be at my best.

But when I create some margin in the morning, it’s different.

I drink some water. Sip my coffee outside. Read a little. Listen to the right music to get my spirit moving in the right direction. Then I get ready for work.

I simply start the day as a better version of myself.

Let’s face it, work can bring challenges early in the day. The unexpected email. A problem that needs solving. A difficult conversation. Something that wasn’t on the schedule.

Starting the day in the best possible state doesn’t eliminate those challenges, but it helps us respond to them in a healthier way.

Your challenge this week:

Experiment with how you begin your day.

What works for me might not work for you. Find the habits that help you start with more energy, patience, clarity, and purpose.

Then pay attention to how they impact the rest of your day.

Starting well drastically increases the odds that we’ll finish well.

An uncommon day often begins with an uncommon start.

Have a great week!

Let’s go be Uncommon.
