Putting Learning Into Action
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
How was your weekend?
As we start a new week, remember growth happens when we take the next step. So let's take steps towards becoming better leaders. 👊
Let's go be uncommon!
This Week's Question:
How consistently are you acting on what you learn?
This Week's Challenge:
I just got off a call with a leader who runs a restaurant. It was a great conversation because he shared the progress he and his team have made over the past several months. Sales are better. Profits are better. The customer experience is better.
I congratulated him and pointed out one reason he’s seeing improvement: he actually does something between our calls.
He listens. He asks great questions. He learns. Then he puts that learning into action. He changes what he does, tries new approaches, and leans into the work required to improve.
I’ve also had calls with leaders on the other end of the spectrum. They listen. They may ask questions. They may even learn something. But between conversations, very little changes.
The results stay the same. The culture stays the same—or begins to slip.
Learning can show us what needs to change. Acting on it is how we make progress.
So how about you? Who do you want to be more like?
Your challenge this week is to DO something based on what you’ve been learning. Don’t put it off! Take the steps to improve your team, your workplace and yourself.
Let’s make this week uncommon by taking action!
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“Well done is better than well said.”-Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard’s Almanac

Until next week,
