Connecting With Your Customers
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
Welcome to a new month and a new opportunity to meet your goals! Hope you all had a nice weekend.
Be intentional this week! Have an uncommon week!
This Week's Question:
Do you ever spend extra time with your very best customers?
This Week's Challenge:
One of the most rewarding things a leader can do is invest intentional time in building relationships with loyal customers.
We often focus on pouring into our teams—and rightly so. I talk about that often.
But recently, I was reminded just how much our customers also impact our lives and businesses.
A couple who had faithfully visited my restaurant for years became like family. Even after I retired, they kept coming. They weren’t just loyal—they were life-giving. They brought smiles, hugs, and genuine care to everyone they encountered.
Recently, the wife passed away. Her name was Kathy.
As I reflected on the loss, I found myself smiling through the sadness, remembering her kind words, her consistent encouragement, and the way she lit up the room with her warm smile.
Sometimes, the best leadership investment you can make is simply sitting at a table with a customer—listening, connecting, being present.
Your challenge this week:
Regardless of your role, give one customer a few minutes of your time. Not to solve a problem. Not to sell something. Just to say thank you, to chat, to see them.
Chances are, you’ll bless someone deeply—and walk away more filled than when you sat down.
Let’s go be Uncommon and make this week meaningful.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“People will never forget how you made them feel—even long after they forget what you did.” - Adapted from Maya Angelou
Until next week,
LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
