Delegate with Success

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

Hope you are enjoying fall and have been able to get outdoors a bit this weekend. 🍂

As always, be intentional this week in all you do. Have a great week!

This Week's Question:

How effective is your delegation?

This Week's Challenge:

One of the biggest challenges I face as a leader is having more to do than I have time to do it.

Sound familiar?

Leadership always comes with pressure—growing responsibilities, limited time, and high expectations. One powerful way to increase your leadership capacity is to delegate. But here’s the catch: delegation only works if it’s done effectively.

If we delegate poorly, we don’t save time—we create confusion. We end up with more work, not less.

Over the next few posts, I’ll be sharing a few simple tips to help you delegate with greater clarity and success.

👉 This week’s tip: Assign with Clarity.

Often, leaders try to delegate tasks without being crystal clear about what they expect. That’s a recipe for frustration.

Before you delegate, get clear yourself on three things:

  • What exactly is the desired outcome?
  • What’s the timeline?
  • What are the standards or expectations?

Your challenge this week:

Delegate one task with complete clarity.

Spell out the what, the when, and the why. You’ll likely find that clarity on the front end leads to better outcomes—and greater trust—on the back end.

Let’s go be Uncommon.

This Week's Quote to Ponder:

“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good people to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it. - Theodore Roosevelt

Until next week,

LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
