Intentional Planning
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and had times of rest and refreshment.
Be intentional as you prepare for the week ahead!
This Week's Question:
How intentional are you being with your upcoming week?
This Week's Challenge:
Most weeks don’t slow down and politely ask us what we’d like to focus on. They come fast. Meetings, texts, problems, opportunities, interruptions… and before we know it, we’re reacting instead of leading.
I know when I’m not intentional, I drift into survival mode. I start checking boxes instead of really leading. I get busy, but not always productive in the ways that matter most.
Uncommon leaders don’t just hope for a good week.
They prepare for one.
They think ahead about:
- the conversations they need to have
- the priorities that matter most
- the people they need to invest in
- and the mindset they want to carry into the week
Intentionality doesn’t guarantee a perfect week, but it dramatically improves our chances of making meaningful progress. It is the main reason I write these posts to come out before the week gets going. Putting thoughts and plans in upfront usually impacts our effectiveness.
Your challenge this week:
Before Monday gets rolling, take a few quiet minutes and ask yourself:
- What really matters this week?
- Who needs my best energy?
- What can’t be left to chance?
- How do I want to show up as a leader?
Then write down 2–3 intentional actions you’re committed to this week.
...Because uncommon leadership doesn’t occur accidentally, it happens because of intention.
Let’s go into this week on purpose.
Let’s go be Uncommon.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda.”- John C. Maxwell
Until next week,
LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
