Do you prepare for big days—or just jump into them?

This Week's Challenge: 

This week, my team and I are taking 10 clients on a week-long hike along the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

We’ll start by climbing over the Pyrenees before descending into Pamplona—home of the “running of the bulls.” It’s an incredible experience, but it’s also a big week with a lot of moving parts.

There are logistics to confirm, details to manage, and plenty of unknowns ahead. Challenges are part of the journey—that’s what makes it meaningful.

But here’s what I know:

Preparation increases the likelihood of success.

My team and our clients have spent hours preparing for this. Training, planning, thinking ahead. And I expect that preparation to pay off.

As leaders, we all face “big days” and “big weeks.”

A major sales push. A promotion. A key conversation. A defining opportunity.

Too often, we just jump in and hope for the best.

But uncommon leaders don’t leave big moments to chance.

They prepare.

Your challenge this week:

Look ahead. What’s coming that matters?

Start preparing now.

Invest the time. Think it through. Get ready.

Because preparation is often what separates the common from the Uncommon.
