Resting Without Losing Momentum
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
I hope you all had a nice weekend.
As you prepare for the week ahead, challenge yourselves to stay engaged with your goals!
Have an uncommon week! ⤴️
This Week's Question:
Do you ever experience the summer doldrums?
This Week's Challenge:
I love summer. There’s usually something to look forward to—vacations, longer days, school being out, beach trips, and warm evenings on the porch. But sometimes, in the thick of summer, when it feels like everyone else is away—friends, family, even customers—I can slip into a funk. The pace slows, my routine softens, and if I’m not careful, lethargy sets in.
I might stop exercising as regularly or get a little too relaxed with my schedule. Sound familiar?
Here’s the thing: rest is essential, but lethargy is dangerous. Rest restores. Lethargy dulls.
As leaders, we have to stay sharp. We can’t let a quiet season lull us into disengagement. Growth doesn’t pause just because it’s hot outside.
Your challenge this week:
Take inventory. Where are you slipping a bit this summer? What good habits are fading? What goals have started to drift?
Call it out. Get honest. Then re-engage with some intentional discipline.
Let’s choose rest without losing momentum.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." - Jim Rohn
