Your Inner Voice

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

We are midway through February and 2026 is in full swing. Keep up the momentum towards your goals!

Have an Uncommon week!

This Week's Question:

How is your “inner voice” shaped?

This Week's Challenge:

We all have an inner voice—a running commentary in our minds that tries to influence how we think, act, and lead.

You might think of it as your inner coach.

Some inner voices are helpful—motivating, wise, anchored in truth. Others are critical, self-centered, or even destructive.

Over time, I’ve learned to recognize and filter those voices. I can usually tell when one is pushing me toward growth—and when another is pulling me toward comfort, laziness, or selfishness.

The healthy voice?

I want more of that one.

Lately I’ve been asking: Where does that voice come from?

Here’s what I’ve discovered: my inner voice is shaped by what I read, who I listen to, what I pray about, and what I dwell on.

What goes in is what comes out.

So if I want a stronger inner coach—one that leads me with wisdom, purpose, and truth—I need to feed it intentionally.

Here’s what I want shaping my inner voice:

  • Scripture
  • Wise people of character
  • Love
  • Reflection and experience
  • Prayer and gratitude

Your challenge this week:

Ask yourself - What’s shaping my inner voice?

Is it strengthening me? Leading me well?

What do I need more of—and what do I need less of?

Your inner coach matters. Feed it well. Lead from within.

Let’s go be Uncommon.

This Week's Quote to Ponder:

“You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.” - James Allen

Until next week,

LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
