Planning Time

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

Welcome to a new week—a fresh opportunity to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact!

I hope you were able to take a moment to reset, refocus, and approach this week with intention.

Make this week uncommon!

This Week's Question:

Do you plan to plan?

This Week's Challenge:

I’m currently at a planning retreat with a business partner, led by our coach. We’re tucked away in the mountains—far from the office, the noise, and the day-to-day routines.

We’ve set aside two and a half days to think, plan, and even dream a bit about the next five years.

It’s exactly what we needed.

There’s no crowd to manage—just the three of us. And in that simplicity, something powerful happens. My mind slows down enough to really think. My energy resets. My perspective sharpens.

It’s been good for me personally—and I believe it will pay off significantly for our business as well.

In fact, I’ve already decided—I’m doing this again in six months.

It got me thinking…

  • When do you plan?
  • Where do you plan?
  • And who do you plan with?

I’m grateful for my business partner—he sharpens me and inspires me.

And I’m grateful for our coach—he guides the process and challenges us to think bigger.

Your challenge this week:

Plan some planning time.

Get away from your normal environment. Create space to think. If possible, bring someone along who can challenge and guide you.

Because:

Common leaders stay buried in doing.

Uncommon leaders create space to think.

Even if it’s just a few hours at a coffee shop—what might come from that investment.

Probably more than you expect.

Have a great week. Let’s go be Uncommon.

This Week's Quote to Ponder:

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” -Abraham Lincoln

Until next week,

LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
